Give the factory a specification your team has reviewed.

Fashion tech packs: specifications, review and an illustrative sample

A tech pack records the technical information needed to discuss and develop a garment with a supplier. In Aimily, it connects the SKU to drawings, bill of materials, measurements, colorways, construction notes and review status. AI can assist preparation; technical decisions and supplier approval remain explicit.

A practical workflow

  1. Choose the exact SKU. Open the product and check its current brief, sketches and colorways. Use the correct revision.

  2. Complete materials and measurements. Record material references, quantities, points of measure, units, grading and tolerances. Leave unknowns marked as pending.

  3. Review samples and evidence. Compare the prototype with the intended specification. Record fit observations, requested changes and the responsible reviewer.

  4. Approve and export. Review the current revision and export the available tech pack. Confirm the factory’s requirements before sending; export alone does not approve production.

What to check before moving on

A drawing does not determine validated garment measurements. Digital color references need physical approval where required. Production readiness depends on current specifications, sourcing, compliance evidence and approvals. Export time varies with document size and service conditions.

A draft becomes usable when the relevant people review the data and evidence. AI suggestions, an exported file and a recorded approval are different states. Missing information remains visible; it is not a verified supplier fact.

Illustrative tech pack sample

Fictional training example, not a customer design or a factory-approved specification. These values show the structure of a specification; a technical designer must validate measurements, tolerances, grading and construction with the supplier.
